If you love traditional Indian sweets, this easy Ladoo is really a must-try. If you always wondered how to make Ladoo at home, this quick and easy recipe with will become your favourite. You only need a few simple ingredients such as TRS gram flour, ghee and baking powder to nail this delicious dessert. Enjoy with your guests or simply on your own 😜
INGREDIENTS for 20 servings
TRS Ingredients
• 2 1/2 cups Gram Flour (Besan)
• 3 cups Ghee
• 1 1/2 tsps Green Cardamom Powder
• TRS Oil
Other Ingredients
• 3 cups Sugar
• 2 cups Water
• 2 pinches Baking Powder
• 1/2 tsps Edible Food Colour of your choice
INSTRUCTIONS
1. To make the Boondi batter, take a large bowl to add 2 1/2 cups of gram flour, then mix food colour and mix it well. Add some water and a little baking powder. Blend the mixture well and make sure there are no lumps. Once the blend attains a perfect consistency, it’s time to move to the next step.
2. Heat the ghee in a large deep-frying pan. Place a perforated ladle (jhada) on top of the oil and add some of the batter. Slowly let the Boondi batter fall in the oil and cook them on a low flame, until properly cooked. Once done, place the Boondi on a tissue paper to remove excess oil.
3. Take a pan and add some water and sugar, allow this blend to boil until it attains a two-string consistency. Then add some cardamom powder and let it cook. Add the Boondis and cook until the sugar syrup and Boondi is perfectly mixed. Cover it with the lid and turn off the flame.
4. Grease your hands with a little ghee and start shaping the Ladoos. Place them in an open tray and garnish with some crushed nuts and indulge in the goodness.
